With the holiday season heating up, it was time to select our office playlist when our creative director suggested we play some songs from his friends’ pet project (insert collective groan). Here’s a little background.

The holiday collection started as a way to raise money for good causes. After all who doesn’t like a good cause like MusiCares? (https://www.grammy.org/musicares)

Then his friend added some all-star talent. (Our CD neglected to mention that his friend had worked with some of the biggest names in music, this was definitely getting better.)

The group, called The Band of Merrymakers, refused to phone it in

Here’s where the music really starts. If they recorded some standards that would have been perfectly acceptable and in fact, even expected. Instead, they wrote new music with a joyful spirit, fresh lyrics and it just made us happy.
